Srđan Stanić - violoncellist and gambist - graduated violoncello at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade in the class of Prof. Françoise Jakovčić. He started studying viola da gamba in 2002 at the Department for Early Music, Music School Josip Slavenski in Belgrade, class of Prof. Miomir Miša Ristić. Over the past years he worked with renowned Serbian early music ensemble Renaissance (founded in 1969) and recently became a member of the ensemble. Sr đan is also one of the founders of the Center for Early Music “Renaissance" (August 2004), and an active member of Flauto dolce alias Joculatores - one of the ensembles that works at the center. Both with Flauto Dolce and with Renaissance he performed numerous successful concerts in Serbia and abroad. He played in the baroque ensemble Tempera Barocca (2006), which was initiated by baroque violinist Danilo Novakovi ć. Ensemble had a successful cooperation with several prominent artists - experts in historically informed performance such as Antoinette Lohmann (NL) - baroque violin and viola, lutist Michael Fields (UK) and countertenor Predrag Đoković (SRB). He performed with Divna Ljubojevi ć (SRB) and her choir for spiritual music Melodi. Srđan also had a collaboration with Predrag Gosta - founder and artistic leader of the New Trinity Baroque - Atlanta (US). He participated in many workshops devoted to historically informed performance such as baroque workshop of violinist Predrag Preša Novovi ć (SWE / SRB) that was held at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. He attended courses and master classes of viola da gamba given by famous gamba artists such as Mark Caudle, Paolo Pandolfo and Christoph Urbanetz. In 2010 he joined the Belgrade Baroque ensemble. Next to concert appearances with the Belgrade Baroque, he also participated Summer master classes and competition of the Austrian Baroque Academy in 2011 and 2012 where ensemble has won prizes, scholarships and concerts. Besides renaissance and baroque music, he also likes to perform medieval music. He joined the newly formed ensemble Ludus Musicus - an ensemble that tries to present the spirit, the aesthetics, the poetry, the theater, and the philosophy of the middle ages and medieval masters to a modern, contemporary listener. He is employed as a cellist in the Symphony orchestra of the Serbian Broadcasting Company (RTS). He also works as a viola da gamba professor at the Department of Early Music in Music School Josip Slavenski in Belgrade.
